Data Engineer

Sweden (Remote)

Full Time

A leading international digital transformation consultancy is seeking a Data Engineer to join its growing team.

The company works with both public and private sector clients, delivering solutions that strengthen critical societal functions and improve everyday life for end users. The Data Engineer will help design, build, and optimise modern data platforms using technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and Azure Databricks. The role involves supporting both greenfield development and migration of existing solutions to the cloud, typically delivered as part of collaborative team-based projects. The engineer will contribute across the full analytics lifecycle, from data ingestion and modelling through to visualisation and decision support.

The organisation places strong emphasis on knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and professional development, offering time for training, certifications, and active participation in technical communities.

The ideal candidate has several years of experience in data engineering, ideally with exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and/or Azure Databricks. Strong SQL skills and experience working with notebooks are required, along with familiarity with medallion architecture or equivalent data modelling approaches. Fluency in both Swedish and English (spoken and written) is essential due to working in local and international environments.

Additional beneficial experience includes work as a consultant, architect, or in a client-facing/sales capacity; experience with data warehousing solutions (including stored procedures, views, and tabular models such as SQL Server, SSIS, and SSAS); Power BI and semantic modelling; Python; DevOps tools such as Git or Bitbucket; Kimball-style data modelling; and exposure to AI or data science projects.
